He finally lost it...
....his tooth, that is! This monumental event was met with typical Matthew style. First, though nervous and unsure, he opted for bravery and had Dad pull his tooth. Second, he tried to negotiate his reward with the "tooth fairy" (aka tooth puller). That's our guy.
The Other Tree
Last Sunday at church, Matthew went to look at the Christmas tree in the lobby. Helen saw him and immediately yelled out "NOooooo!" (pronounced with 5 syllables). Obviously, we need an alternative at home. This idea came from I Can Teach My Child and never gets a no!

Gingerbread Playdough!
In Home school this month, we're doing lots of special Christmas projects. Today, we made Gingerbread Playdough. It was easy, fun and smelled really great. If you make this for more than one kiddo, you may want to double the recipe. Also, don't fear the gooey mess in your pan! It actually cleaned up pretty well. Be sure to let it cool completely before playing (that makes it less sticky, too.) Here are our pics:
| I didn't say it wasn't messy..... |

| She has a helpful spirit, at least! |

Oh, Matthew
M: Mom, you should be thankful you only have two kids.
Me: Why is that, Matthew?
M: Because. If you had three kids, you'd really be crazy.
I love you, too, bud.
